Cybersecurity Hackathon 2024

The cybersecurity hackathon is the first of its kind in Lesotho, where Basotho students from different institutions of higher learning showcase their cybersecurity skills in malware analysis, threat intelligence, cryptography, forensics, and other related topics.

A preliminary cybersecurity competition took place from 27–31 August 2024, conducted entirely online. Of all the participants, only six teams advanced to the finals. The finals ran over two days online (2–3 November 2024), concluding with an in-person event at the Avani Maseru Hotel on 4 November 2024.

The initiative aims to enhance cybersecurity awareness and skills among participants, reflecting the growing importance of cybersecurity in the region.
